The bank's blood stocks are currently very low, due to the novel coronavirus outbreak causing a reduction of blood donations across the city.
The Luohu Hospital Group took the initiative to contact the city's blood center, and called upon its employees to donate. The 120-plus blood donators came from almost all departments of the group.
The blood donations were carried out in accordance with the requirements of epidemic control: all people wore masks, while every blood donation vehicle was limited to five donators and five nurses.
"I donate blood every year, as I know how important the blood is to patients. I just want to help," said a hospital security guard participating in the donation.
A doctor, who had donated blood more than 40 times, said: "I am just doing what I can to help."
