It will be a comprehensive port handling both freight and personnel, which will mainly be between Hong Kong and the eastern part of Shenzhen.
The Liantang Port covers a total area of 17.4 hectares, comprising the visitors’ inspection building, freight inspection site, cross-border bridge and supporting facilities. Construction began in November 2013, and the total area that underwent construction was 149,000 square meters.
30,000 travelers are estimated to go through the port, and nearly 18,000 vehicles cross the border daily.
