Luohu facilitates taxation with new measures
Luohu’s top tax official introduced the district’s tax and fee cuts, as well as its pro-business measures this year in a biweekly news conference organized by the district government on April 12.
As a county-level district of Shenzhen, Luohu’s tax income is comparable to that of a mid-sized city. The average annual personal tax output is 40,000 yuan (US$5,964), and every square kilometer of its area generates an average of 500 million yuan in tax revenue in a year. This is markedly higher than the 400 million yuan average of Shenzhen city, according to Guo Qing, a member of the Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) of the Luohu taxation bureau and the chief accountant of the bureau.
In the past two years, the tax bureau of Luohu launched two pro-taxation initiatives to make it more convenient for taxpayers to pay tax and resolve tax-related issues on the internet. Its online processing model will become a conventional and standard practice in the future, which will boost the efficiency of the bureau.
The bureau will launch a series of new service measures to facilitate taxation this year such as a white list of taxpaying enterprises. The companies on the list, all of which are expected to have good taxpaying records, will enjoy better services and have their taxation-related procedures greatly streamlined, Guo said.
